NXT troubles!

I've started up my NXT today, only to find that the screen is displaying a glitchy mess!

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Is it possibly low on batteries?

My new NXT 'brain' came in the mail today! Interestingly, it has some extra markings at the bottom.
I'll power up the new one as soon as possible and see that the dispay is working!
Here, the one on the left is the new brain and the one on the right is the brain with the faulty display and lack of markings.
