S@H Fire Brigade 10197
S@H Fire Brigade 10197
I can't find the Fire Brigade on S@H and I get the Not available in your country (can not be found) message when using the direct link.

Fluke or gone?

Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
it most likely is the beginning of its end.
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!
Lego 10197 Fire Brigade MIA ?
I was browsing Eurobricks, and was surprised to find a member reporting in an
unrelated message that the 10197 Fire Brigade appears to be unavailable, at least
in North America.
I went to S@H and indeed the item does not show up in the Canada or USA S@H store,
it skips to the Pet Shop if you enter the item number in the search.
However, if you load the UK or Australian store, and view the 10197, and then
change the store to Canada / USA, it reads "Not available in your country (can
not be found)". I don't know if this is a database error issue (I know there
are LOTS on S@H, I've been in contact with them about their problems for a month
now), or if this is becoming unavailable in North America.
It certainly is a strange way of marking an item as "sold out". Usually TLG
lists it as "Call for product availability" or "Sold out" not this strange message.
Does anyone have any insight? I know this set is 2 years old and close to retirement,
but the message just seems silly.

Resistance is futile.

At least for the US, the end of 10197 is almost here. walmart, tru, and amazon are all sold out, too. Target.com still has some in stock.

Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
When I go to target.com and search for 10197, it is showing OOS. HOWEVER, if you go to "GOOGLE SHOPPING" search for "LEGO 10197" then clicking the link to Target - it will show in stock online... 49 left right now.
Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
By the way, I was at a physical LEGO store yesterday, there was no sight of 10197.
Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
I concur that it probably will be discontinued in January, much like the Green Grocer was a few years ago. They have 3 modulars available now (FB, GE and pet shop) so they probably want to discontinue the FB so a new one can be introduced in 2012.
How cool would it be to get the FB on clearance in January? BUT if you really want it, I wouldn't wait!
I actually have and extra one that I was going to return to TRU. Is it worth keeping to try and sell after it is discontinued? I don't really want to do EBAY or deal with shipping such a huge/heavy set. I wonder if I would find a buyer locally through CL next year? Any ideas/thoughts?

Now it's back up for North America S@H. Tricksy! That or I need to stop checking their site at 3:30am
Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
lol this thread prob contributed to the other sites selling out of their stock though!
Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
Don't be fooled into rushing to buy these sets in fear of them selling out. I have recently purchased from Shop @ Home and the set has a 2011 added to the copyright date. 2009, 2011 where the dates are printed on the box. There should be plenty out there for a while. Lego is not new to this and has reintroduced the Winter Toy Shop 10199 as an other example.
Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
Based on previous sets, I will say that FB will be discountinued by xmas. We might see them on clearance the day after if they have any left. I'm still pissed off for not picking up cafe corner when I saw it. That was my inexperience coming out of the dark ages.

That is a flawed conclusion.zztoy wrote:Don't be fooled into rushing to buy these sets in fear of them selling out. My 7634 tractor i got when they clearanced them out, had a smaller box marked 2011. It came out in 2009.
I don't have any reason to believe they will be re-releasing it.
The winter toy shop is part of a new theme and can't be applied to the FB.

Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
Well, I looked at one I ordered in May and it has 2009 dated only. So I don't think this is too flawed. This is new stock.
Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
It makes perfect sense that it's labelled with the year it was sold but 2011 is nearly over and so is that sets life cycle when held up against the others as comparison. I agree that just because I couldn't find it on S@H for a few hours doesn't mean it's gone forever though. I had a feeling it would pop back up.

Re: S@H Fire Brigade 10197
I was speaking to the manager of my local Lego Store, and he told me that they only had a few FB's left in stock, and doesn't foresee getting too many more. He believes that it may be on it's way out in the near future.
My advice (for us Canadians anyway) is that this month might be the best time to purchase it in order to get double VIP points from the Lego Store or S@H. They've got a 90 day return policy, so you could hold onto it in hopes of a Creator sale at TRU within that time frame.
