[POLL] Do you support the Toys N Bricks split?

Post by Toys N Bricks » Tue Jun 14, 2011 6:50 pm

Featured Poll: June 14-20

Our new site for Toys and Bricks (Beta) is now live. Since you've all seen it by now, we would like to know what you think about the split. Would you prefer Toys N Bricks to have 3 different websites that focuses on the following 3 catergories?
  • LEGO News - Toysandbricks.com
  • LEGO Sales & Deals (North America) - Toysnbricks.com/Toysnbricks.ca
  • LEGO Sales & Deals (Europe/Asia/Australia) - Toysnbricks.net/Toysnbricks.co.uk
You may select 1 of the following 2 options
  • Yes, I support the split between LEGO News and the regional split between LEGO Sales & Deals
  • No, put everything back together at http://www.toysnbricks.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
At Toys N Bricks, we value everyone's opinions and feedback. Your vote and suggestions would allow us to further improve our service and enhance your Toys N Bricks experience.

Not really. But then again, I don't visit the front page.

Personally, I subscribe to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of thought. I thought the site was fine the way it was set up, even though my main reason for coming here was because you had such good coverage of sales and deals, so ultimately I guess its good either way.

Sorry if I'm not much help. :)

Since there is no option to vote for "No opinion/Don't Care", I didn't select an option.

I voted no. To me, it seems more convenient to have Lego news and sales news on the same site.

I voted no as well. I prefer an "all-in-one" site. Feels like more of a community that way.
LEGO, it's not just a toy, it's an addiction... ;)

Since the forums do not change, it is only the path to them that is different.

So having it split is meant to help cut through clutter of information you are not interested in.
(i.e. someone doesn't have money right now to spend, so not interested in sales, but want to know news, mocs and reviews)

And as most say they go right to the forums, it shouldn't matter to most users.

Thanks to everyone that voted. After reading the comments and suggestions, I've decided to restructure the entire Toys and Bricks business. The fees for the site has been paid already so it will have to continue to operate.

Toysnbricks.com
Toys N Bricks will continue to operate like before with all the LEGO News and Sales & Deals coverage. Rest assured that you will be getting the same amount of coverage as before.

Toys N Bricks will have catergories more specific to LEGO Sales and Availability but will not have specific catergories on LEGO News compared to Toys and Bricks.

Toysandbricks.com
Toys and Bricks will operate only with LEGO News. This means there may/will be duplicate news on both sites.

Toys and Bricks will have a cleaner interface and catergories there will be more specific on LEGO News. There will be additional coverage on MOCs and Reviews compared to only the weekly ones at Toys N Bricks.

There should only be one site. You haven't posted anything on toysandbricks.com in over a month anyway.
