What should i do with my lego sw collection?

Post by FireWolf » Mon Apr 05, 2010 12:36 pm

So i have this big star wars collection and i'm having some trouble keeping everything on display mainly with limited amount of space. If i keep it all out, dust would start accumlating and my collection will get dusty. I can't keep up with all the new sets coming out and i just don't have the spaces for them. Lego is releasing the star wars sets in massive amounts like the ucs ones too. Should i start packing all the older sets to the original boxes and sell them or wait? Or should i continue to keep my collection (they look trash since i dump them all into one cabinet to keep them from getting dusty)?

Right now, i'm planning to keep the ones i like best and selling off the old ones at the moment. But theres still too much and most look good with only a few like y wing and midi scale falcon.

Only display a certain number of sets.
The other ones break down and store.
Then at a later time swap out the ones on display with the ones in storage.

You will regret selling them, so don't!

Do not sell them. Value will increase over time and i agree with ncbarrett you'll regret them afterwards.

I have the same problem, limited space, so I disassemble some of the older sets and put them in large ziplock baggies and put them in the closet. That way, the pieces are together should I ever decide to put them back together in the future.
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?

Thanks for the suggestions. Its going to take time and effort to reassemble and dissassemble those sets, but i guess i'll stick with keeping them. Have guy guys ever plan to resell them in the future? I love all the sets but hate it if lego "remake" a update version and the value will go down.
