LEGO 7666 Hoth Rebel Base Question

Should I get the 7666 Hoth Rebel Base? For me it just seems a combination of 8089 Hoth Wampa Cave and 7749 Echo Base...Do I am missing something? Or is it no longer worth to get it?

I would say wait. On brickipedia it says in the second wave of Star Wars releases there is going to be a 7879 Hoth Echo Base. I can only guess what that might include, but it might worth be waiting at least to see if there is a cheaper way to fill in the gaps of maybe K3p0 or anything else like the probe droid.

No don't get it. LEGO is remaking all the stuff in that set. People were cracy with that set at the beginning because almost all the figures were new and available only in that set. Even the base was cool because LEGO never made anything for Hoth other than snowspeeders and AT-ATs. The only thing thats still exclusive to that limited edition set today is the probe droid, the gate, and K-3PO.

But other than that, everything else is being made into other sets (and improved) like the minifigures, turret, and snowspeeder. Like sadowsk1 said, I think 7879 Hoth Echo Base will fill in the gap for 7666 Hoth Rebel Base. Possibly a gate will be included.

This might be a stupid question but what is the difference between K-3PO and C-3PO? is K-3PO white?...seems to be the same minifigure for me lol

If you try to look for difference, you can find a little. There's 2 red dots on the top right corner of his torso and the printing on the torso is light gray instead of black. But generally speaking, it is the exact same minifigure as C-3PO except that its white. ;)

This might be too much star wars info but k3po was one of the few droids in the rebellion that actually had a rank which might be why there are two red dots. I know, I'm a star wars super nerd.

I have the original "rebel" base set when it was first released. K3PO is the same mold as C3PO just all in white. It wasn't a bit issue for me at the time as I had just gotten back into SW and Lego respectively. Until Luke's Speeder came out last year I didnt have and protocol droids at all.

If you combine the Rebel base (or its forthcoming re-issue), with a number of those "echo" base firing barricades you can get a good last stand for the rebels while an AT-AT plods on.
