Hello, Have you ever develop new ideas or creation on Design by me? I wonder how many members are there using Design by me?

How do you like LDD software?

Have you use any gallary LDD online? Does this helpful what you looking for? or hard to find by search that what specific looking for?

I wonder how many member did order through Legoshop by using LDD?

What version of LDD? latest version is 4.0

I did for a while, but it's a lot more fun building with real bricks. It's also easier.

Before I figured out there was pick a brick. I used it to "build" lego models with pieces I wanted in them. Now, It's easier to build with real bricks

I love LDD, because it allows me to play with LEGO on the commute home from work, or just hanging out. I don't have a lot of space in my house right now (we're still under reconstruction of the first floor) so I don't have a lot of areas I can spread out my brick collection and just go to town (nor do I have the time to, frankly).

I also like to conceptualize things virtually before actually doing anything, so it works well for me.

That said, I've never used the DesignbyMe feature or uploaded anything to the gallery. I found LDD to be relatively useless until I found out how to unlock 'Universe Mode' (which basically gives you every brick imaginable in any color you want to paint it.)

I've used LDD a fair bit. Over on those boards, I've reconstructed some classic sets with LDD. Not every brick and torso printing ever made is in there. Most new elements are there though. They improve it with every release.

It's actually really well done. You have to learn a couple of tricks. Most notably, you can search on a brick's part number (if you're creating a set from a BL inventory, for example). Also color names can be confusing since Lego's official names differ from fan terms for colors.

There is a version for Mac and PC. And it's free; can't beat that.

I find LDD in universal mode is very helpful for designing in. If I get an idea, sometimes it's easier to play around with it in LDD then dig out all of the bricks I might need. I often find that as my idea grows, I end up using some pieces that I don't have in real bricks. It can go the other way as well. Sometimes when I'm designing a larger model, I'll built a part in real bricks then rebuild it in LDD as part of my larger model.
