why not worldwide shipping?

I've been scanning the lego postings on ebay and have seen sellers shipping to specific countries only. The country ive seen listed frequently is italy. Why? I do sell items on there just not lego but have been thinking about listing a few of my sets. Any help would be appreciated.

Most likely the sellers have had bad dealings with people in certain countries and have decided to restrict shipping to certain areas to avoid problems in the future. I remember a friend of a friend telling me about trying to sell a laptop on ebay and the winning bidder kept being from somewhere in Africa, and wanted him to ship it somewhere weird, and after the fifth attempt he just said forget it and donated it to a school instead.

For Italy in particular, the issue appears to be how bad Poste Italiane appears to be at delivering mail, resulting in charge backs for items that were sent but never received.

Google for "ebay italy shipping" and you'll see what I mean...
