Yep, I just saw that too. Guess it's official.. they've gotten bumped up. Bleh! I hope walmart gets them soon. I need that price + no hassle returns.gabriellee11 wrote:Price is showing at $2.99 right now at S@H!!!!stocktheodds wrote:USA Lego S@H has CMF series 3 listed, but not available to purchase yet. or get them at meijer for $1.99 while they last!
Re: LEGO 8803 Collectable Minifigures Series 3 Availability
Well, I guess I have to concede the MSRP increase. They're seriously shooting themselves in the foot. For $2.99 I'm really not interested in a lot of these guys. There are 7 or 8 out of the 16 that I actually want, and I would've grabbed the rest for the sake of completeness at $1.99, but now I'll give them a pass.
Re: LEGO 8803 Collectable Minifigures Series 3 Availability
That's true-in this case, it's more likely that they will go to kids who either have no clue, are being bought presents by the clueless, or whom are simply excited to collect. They're also preventing adults from buying all in stores.vynsane wrote:Well, I guess I have to concede the MSRP increase. They're seriously shooting themselves in the foot. i believe that is part of the reason for the new price, along with basic supply/demand.BobaFett2 wrote:That's true-in this case, it's more likely that they will go to kids who either have no clue, are being bought presents by the clueless, or whom are simply excited to collect. they are still 2.99 cad...
Re: LEGO 8803 Collectable Minifigures Series 3 Availability
Yes, but the demand is there for an increased supply. If the price remained at $1.99, and they increased the supply, I would've bought a full set of 16 plus the dupes/trips of some of the ones I really liked PLUS there would've still been more for kids to buy. Now, they'll only get some of my money and some of the kids money, whereas they could have had more of my money. Hence, foot-shooting.ncbarrett wrote:i believe that is part of the reason for the new price, along with basic supply/demand.BobaFett2 wrote:That's true-in this case, it's more likely that they will go to kids who either have no clue, are being bought presents by the clueless, or whom are simply excited to collect. They make more money by charging more for less items.vynsane wrote:Yes, but the demand is there for an increased supply. Less to produce & get more per figure.
Having worked in many different types of manufacturing, this is something that is constant.
Not saying I agree with it, but basic production rules don't lend themselves to the customer.

It's not just this-the non-licensed themes have soared, with bad price per parts for NINJAGO and PQ.ncbarrett wrote:They make more money by charging more for less items.vynsane wrote:Yes, but the demand is there for an increased supply. Oh, I agree that short-term, they're going with the best way to make as much of their money back up-front. However, longer-term trends can be swayed here. Had I gotten CMFs3 for $1.99, I would've gotten an entire set. If CMFs4 was $1.99, I would've gotten an entire set as well. Now I have four full sets of 16 figures from each series. If CMFs5 came out at $2.99, I might have been more inclined to say "well, inflation blah blah blah" and bit the bullet because, heck, I have four full sets behind me, I'm not going to stop now!ncbarrett wrote:They make more money by charging more for less items.

But as it stands I only have two full sets of 16 behind me and I'm already bowing out of completing CMFs3, because I don't have that built-up collection mentality. They got a little greedy and I'm not taking the bait. I feel like, at $1.99, the CMFs were a perpetual money-printing machine - they could sell them at that price forever and they'd sell out.
Another principle to think about here is gradual increase of production run AND price = exponentially greater return. I might have had a better reaction if the price increased to $2.24 or even $2.49, but an entire dollar is harder to swallow.
I guess this is why 'simple supply and demand' is never all that simple... ;)

Re: LEGO 8803 Collectable Minifigures Series 3 Availability
The horror! The HORROR! I'm going to have to ask my Chicago area friends and relatives to hit Meijer until they see the increase in price too. Anyone still hoping Five Below has them for $1.99 still?
Last night at TRU they had a case of some sort of NinjaGo, what looked like a single pack with a jester-like villain. It was $9.99. Ugh! One figure and what, a spinning disk thing or whatever it is those figures are supposed to do, Beyblade style or something. Those are not on my wishlist.

I just obtained 36 minifigures series 3 (8803) at the TRU Springfield, IL. I also go the BOGO deal and an original container.

I bet that won't stay for long. Lego always charges a premium in Canada for like 40% more than US.r4-g9 wrote:they are still 2.99 cad...

Hit my local Meijer (Monroe, MI) last night, and they had about a box there.
Picked up a couple gorilla suit guys for my relatives, and another elf and fisherman.
still $1.99

Has anyone seen series 3 minifigs in the Seattle area recently, ie at TRU, Fred Meyer? I'll be making a trip to Seattle this week and am hoping to pick up some!
Thanks in advance.
