This TRU has always been higher than the usual markups. Series 2 was $3.49 when every other TRU was $2.99. The train sets are $20 over msrp.

As for me, I'm waiting for my Lego store to stock these.

Probably true, but their profile says they are from NY and he said Queens...not sure where Quebec came in :D

I was at walmart today and found 6 boxes in the Lego aisle. Each minifigure was ringing up for $2.97.

Hrm... well THAT is kinda disheartening. I'm starting to break down and admit to the rumors of an increase in MSRP... But will hold out hope until I see them in person at the LEGO Store form something other than $1.99. At least this will increase availability.

I bought one box and I am going through the box by feeling right now...it seems that they have different codes on this ones...so far I found that on this box there is 4 fisherman!!! I got an unopened box out of the 6 that were there..

I still going through it...I will give you more news when I finish!!

NVM...the codes seems to be right...It was just the fisherman that the first 2 bumps where close to each other... but kind of weird that it came 4 of them in the box..probably someone messed up on it....

Ok...I got the ones I want...now its time to return.

Natelite, looks like it might be true, though plenty of us figured it was the typical TRU mark-up and that Target saw they could make a little more too (dunno if Borders ever had them for less than $3.99), but if Wal-Mart is in on it, perhaps it is the dreaded increase. We can only hope plastic quality increases with the price.

I am still holding out for Five Below and The Lego Store at something less...

We also have to consider that Walmart is ever only going to be a few cents less than the competition on anything - they see other retailers selling them for $2.99, and say "why should we only get $1.99 when we can get almost the same amount as them?" so they have it for $2.97. ALWAYS THE CHEAPEST PRICES by two cents (I despise Walmart).

I bought the minifigs yesterday in the morning and then went back to return the minifigs that I didnt want at night (before the store closes) and they still had 5 boxes...like 2 unopened. I think the minifigs are still seating them in that location. It seems not many people are buying them because of the increase of price of $2.99. (Walmart price $2.97 "Always low prices" - Walmart slogan).

i don't think it's the increase in price. it's mainly because a lot of people despise shopping or be seen in walmart. it's considered the store for the tasteless and poor. :D not me though, coz i only care for the cheapest lego i can find. :D

I live in South bend Indiana. So I have 3 Meijer stores within 30 minutes. I have been able to get the series 3 minifigures for $1.99 at all 3 of the Meijer stores around me.
