LEGO Super Heroes - The Hydra Fortress Smash (76041) $39.98
This set has been retired for a little while now and they seem to be wanting to clear them out.

I managed to find them at a local Toys R Us here in Vancouver

The only way to make money out of this set is selling loose minifigures and part out the set on bricklink.

Good luck with that, this set has been available for clearance at TRU for forever so by now every bricklinker in Canada has picked up a dozen of these. With that kind of competition you will sit on the figures for a long time.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

In addition to the above, this set was on clearance during the buy 1 get the second one half price.. so, you buy two then each will cost $30.
You can imagine not only Bricklinkers got alot of that set but also people who wants that set alredy got it and still can get it at Toys r Us. Moreover, The Hulk figure is also avilable in the Hulk buster set. As a result, this sets minifigures are not that unique except for Quicksilver minifigure.

I'm glad you got a nice deal, but boy do I hate seeing pictures of people wiping out clearance sales so they can turn around and resell them later.

I went to the Mastermind Toys warehouse sale a few years back. When the doors opened there was a rush to the LEGO section and people literally just swept sets into their (multiple) carts with abandon. There was a woman trapped between several carts who wasn't expecting it and was actually in tears begging people to please let her out - nobody did until they'd cleared the shelves completely. I went in not knowing what to expect and frankly, it was disgusting.

I'm sure it isn't the practice of all resellers, but too many times I've seen people buying up every last item with no regard for others who may want in on the deal. I used to see it at concerts where speculators would try to buy every copy of a limited LP, for example. It's sad, both for them and their peers who won't have a chance to pick up a unique item, or get something at a discount.

Unfortunatly that s the way it works.
A reseller spends time and money to find deal
If the regular Timmy wants a deal too then he should be more aware of what is going around and Just dont expect a clearence item to fall from the sky in his hands.

Oh I realize that.

Resellers are free to spend their time scooping up all the deals but I'm just as free to find the practice distasteful, and in some cases laughable.

It's one of many derisive terms used by resellers on the brickpicker forum to describe children who just want to buy Lego to play with. When someone uses that term, it usually "outs" them as a member of that forum and all that entails.
